Charles Spencer Richard Coles Prof Cat Jarman FSA💀 Althorp Oh I shall really miss it! It’s such a welcome retreat from the negativity going on around us. Appreciate that it’s a lot of work to research a new topic every week though - it’s been very much appreciated. Thank you

New hobby! Thank you Charles Spencer for encouraging me, you never know when it might come in handy... 😅 This was actually inspired by years of learning about and finding Viking Age horse gear and arrows at Repton...

This week ⁦Prof Cat Jarman FSA💀⁩ & I discovered this fabulous place - Old School Books, in Burnham Market. An excellent selection on the bookshelves (coincidentally they sold out of Cat’s excellent history book, ‘Bone Chests’, yesterday), and then there’s the cafe. We shall return….

Just read The Bone Chests by Cat Jarman. Excellent book on whereabouts and burials of many of #England #AngloSaxon and #Viking kings at Winchester Cathedral, sadly now all mixed together in mortuary chests after religious vandalism by parliamentary soldiers #History #Burials
