In Oxfordshire we campaigned incredibly hard for part of the Thames to gain bathing water status. Yet Thames Water discharged sewage upstream from Port Meadow for 676 hours over Christmas. Govt must takes urgent steps to improve regulation, so we can finally enjoy our rivers.

Yes, the majority of the Horizon Europe funds goes to “science” in the English sense of the term. And let’s hope with scientists that the govt rejoins. But you would never realise from most reports that Horizon also funds Arts & Humanities (part of “science” in European sense).
