Remembering I wasn't allowed to go & see my lovely mum in her care home for more than a year, and even then, not without testing, masking, wearing apron & gloves and only minimal physical contact, while these people were living it up like this. Vote wisely, vote early 💪💥 🗳

When you vote - Remember those who partied when people were dying - Those who gave their pals contracts worth millions - Those who caused the deaths of our loved ones in care homes - Those who have brought the NHS to its knees - Those who have destroyed local Govt VOTE24

Encouraging to see the commitment to deliver #Anneslaw in today’s programme for government. It has been acknowledged that Gov got it wrong with care homes so we need #Anneslaw to ensure that residents & loved ones are never cut off from each other again First Minister Maree Todd

Please sign everyone - I’m gutted to see so many fine buildings being left to rot. Owners need to be called to account and steps taken by us all to preserve great buildings worth saving. Doing nothing must become the expensive option.

This was an emotional discussion for all involved. Praying we have an ‘Anne’s Law’ that is worthy of the name within the next year.🌻🌻🙏

‘On the day Notre Dame reopens after a devastating fire, Scotland’s finest building, the Mackintosh School of Art, lies in ruins. Is it only Edinburgh that really matters in our threadbare cultural priorities?’ Interesting provocation by Neil Gilmour reformscotland.com/whas-like-us-s…

1/2 Seriously pondering whether #carehomes align with my values anymore. So many homes opting to take #private funders only but where does that leave those who can't pay? We shouldn't be in a situation where people who can't pay for #care are left abandoned.

As Glasgow celebrates its 850th anniversary this year, and more than a decade since the first Glasgow School of Art fire, we should mark the milestone by finally getting the restoration of Glasgow's greatest architectural achievement underway. Read my Glasgow Times column 👇

‘The plan was to be with her mum every day, but that was impossible because of Covid restrictions... Ellen's health deteriorated & before she died district nurses filled in an adult support & protection referral.’ Exactly we need #AnnesLaw Maree Todd John Swinney

Today Scottish Government has published a replacement for Section 40, #Anneslaw. We are pleased to see the Gov has accepted the concept of people in residential & nursing homes having an Essential Care Supporter. We were never simply ‘visitors’ .

We need a much better balance in care provision. As was said in the discussion last night’s news - too much now depends on for profit care homes. It’s the same in Scotland. It’s shameful more hasn’t been done for this young man.
