Any changes to the RPZ’s cannot make an already terrible situation for renters worse than it is. Renters cannot be collateral damage in order to satiate investors.

Really disappointing to see the closure of Dublin City Centre’s only public toilets. In the 1970s, Dublin had 60 public toilets. The provision of public toilets, bins & benches are vital to our city as we head into the summer months.

My sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Garda Kevin Flatley who died tragically whilst on duty in North County Dublin this afternoon. An unimaginable tragedy which has shocked the community and country.

Really concerning to see the collapse of derelict buildings today on the #GrandCanal #Dublin6 Fortunately no injuries were sustained - but this highlights the urgent need to address the scourge of vacancy & dereliction across our communities.

Tenant was paying €1500 per month. Landlord evicted tenant with intention of selling property. Didn't sell. Re-let property for €2,200. Gets a fine of €3,000 - which he'll make back within a few months of his illegal rent hike. Some punishment.

This is a deeply shocking report about the treatment of dogs at a registered premises and raises serious questions about greyhound welfare. The Minister for Agriculture should ensure there is an independent investigation by the ISPCA and An Garda Siochána.

🇵🇸 One year ago, Ireland recognised Palestine — a vital step. But as Israel commits genocide in Gaza, we must do more. The Govt didn't oppose our @labourparty motion — now they must act at the UN with an emergency resolution.

Shocking report from Jackie Fox shows hundreds of US flights carrying munitions of war have landed at #Shannon airport. We must ensure that weapons for unlawful armed conflict are not transported through Ireland. Ireland cannot be complicit in Israel’s #GazaGenocide‌

I'm old enough to remember when uniform rent caps across the while country would be an unconstitutional impediment on a landlord's property rights… (2016. It was 2016, which is why areas had to experience particular levels of increase in order to be classified as an RPZ)

One of the most bizarre decisions in a catalogue of bizarre Government decisions on housing. - Tenant-In-Situ gutted - Rent Pressure Zones gutted - Delays for housing bodies to access funding - Hundreds (potentially thousands) of social homes halted through PPP Chaos.

Dept of Housing's mismanagement of RPZ reform will trigger a shortterm supply shock. No landlord will re-let a vacant unit before March 2026. To avoid this rent control reforms are usually introduced immediately after their announcement but these were announced a year in advance!

Israel's attack on Iran is a deeply concerning moment of global conflict. We need restraint but instead we are seeing escalation. #Iran should not be able to develop nuclear weapons. Neither should #Israel who hold a large sophisticated and clandestine nuclear arsenal.
