We are so excited to be welcoming Isabel Thomas to our school in January. We've heard great things from Manor Lodge Library - bring on the non-fiction fun! ๐โ๐

A massive thank you to Leanne from Bookbugsdragontales๐ for launching our DT project this afternoon. We are making books with sliders and levers; we explored a range of books & found out what she looks for when buying! We can't wait to display our final products in the shop! ๐๐๐ซ

This is just amazing! Rob Burrow CBE will be reading Tilda Tries Again on the CBeebies Bedtime Story with the aid of eye-tracking computer equipment. His reading is a powerful indicator of what can be achieved when you have the resolve, and I want to say a HUGE thanks to Rob.

We have four very excited children off to Bookbugsdragontales๐ DARA awards night tonight to join their review team and choose up to ยฃ50 worth of free books to take home and keep. Incredible! Thank you to everyone involved in making the magic happen! ๐๐๐ซ

A massive thank you to the brilliant Rachel Delahaye = racheldelahaye.bsky.social for 'Zooming' our Y4s yesterday. They have absolutely loved studying Mort the Meek and were beyond excited to get incredible insights into life as an author, her inspirations and future books soon to be released! ๐๐๐ซ

After loving Vlad and the Great Fire of London, Year 2 were visited by Boxton who needed our help to send a letter to his fictional wife, Roxy. We are so proud of their efforts to convey what Boxton saw, his emotions and what to do next. Thanks for the inspiration Kate Cunningham ๐

We had THE best day with Isabel Thomas - inspiring the whole school from Nursery to Year 6 in all things science and writing non-fiction. Thank you so much also to Manor Lodge Library for making it happen and joining us for the day. Stay curious! โค๐ฆ๐

The loveliest day at the loveliest school! Huge thank yous to Catton Grove Primary Love Reading! and Manor Lodge Library and 700 curious children who came up with some of the best impossible questions I've ever heard!

The highlight of our day was handing out 23 copies of Robert Tregoning ๐ and Stef Murphy's 'Out of the Blue' book to each of our teachers. Ready for our whole school picture book focus on World Book Day. Thanks to Bookbugsdragontales๐ for sourcing; they are of great beauty! ๐๐๐

After a brilliant day exploring our whole school picture book focus, Out of the Blue, we were lucky enough to be joined by Robert Tregoning ๐ for a whole school Zoom. Robert read to us, we asked him lots of questions and shared work with him that we'd done throughout the day. Perfect!

Catton Grove Primary Love Reading! It was an absolute pleasure to speak to you all on zoom and to see the wonderful artwork that had been created and listen to the beautiful poetry. I hope everyone enjoyed #WorldBookDay ๐โจ
