Allan Bank in Grasmere, really enjoyed the new exhibitions on Wordsworth’s time there + his influence on the Lake District and Gwyneth Alban Davis prints. Light boxes with old photos fantastic. WW hated AB and slagged it off no end when it was built….but then moved in!

This is such a good production. I’d somehow forgotten just how tragic Steinbeck’s novel is for almost every character. Do go and see it if you’re near Keswick. Theatre by the Lake

True story. Potato farmer goes into his local chip shop, asks where the guy buys his spuds in from. Egypt, he says. Hmmm, thinks the farmer, has cunning plan: builds chip factory on his farm which is just down the road. Tmw’s On Your Farm 6.30 BBC Radio 4

I know, I know, we say it all the time but Cumbria is just indescribably beautiful on days like these. Up near Hartsop + Angle Tarn.

Shelbourne, a superb cartoonist, always right on top of the stories that matter, tourism, government, farming, foot and mouth back in 2001 - subtle, political, moving...and funny. Will miss you Colin!
