What’s up with the AB env. minister sneering at people protecting the environment? What level of lethargy does it take to NOT shift the energy economy when the global economy is ripe for it & as we blow past 1.5C? How much disregard for children? #notmyenvironmentminister

Rebecca Schulz Albertans are calling on Rebecca Schulz to remember that a short year ago she ran on emissions reductions and net zero by 2050. Apparently the emissions reductions possible in ‘23 are now impossible. Were the UCP lying then or now? #scrapthecrap #abpoli #ableg

Imagine having a concerted on-going campaign to get more people driving and then being shocked when the roads are congested. These people, honestly, are silly.

Too many politicians want to design our city based on feelings. Deputy Fire Chief Jim Jessop: according to the data, emergency response times have actually improved since the Bloor bike lanes were installed.

This is BIG!! The law has a long way to go, quickly, to respond to the existential threat of climate change. For that, it needs to be tested, as per below. Amazing work by Ontario youths. And a super interesting write-up about the appeal! 👏👏👏

Here's the real problem with Jean's statement: it presumes a level of climate inaction that will make it impossible for the world to meet (or even sniff) its climate targets. He's betting on failure. A truly "ethical" government would be betting on success here.

Carlton Reid Think your street needs all that on-street parking to survive? This #Toronto study shows only 4% of shoppers come by car (retailers generally vastly overestimate that %), yet they get most of the space — 30% of the street just for parking! “…conflicting reports show a “net-zero” Canada would create 700,000 more energy jobs than currently exist today because of the growth in renewables.”

Thank you to University of Toronto for making your voice heard- Ford's plan to remove bike lanes costs money that is sorely needed elsewhere in our city and makes our communities less healthy and less safe. #TOpoli Cycle Toronto #toronto

Dear Ontario Premier Doug Ford (Doug Ford), My 10-year-old son was identified with a need last year and had to change public schools. I now bike him 2.2km to school in the mornings and he bikes home alone. We use the 8-year-old Bloor Street bike lanes which make the roads

The Ford government selected the Bloor bike lane for removal on behalf of well-connected businessmen from the world of real estate & private finance, with political & donor ties to the PC Party thetrillium.ca/news/municipal… #onpoli #TOpoli #bikeTO

This is a very good example of the difference between talking the talk and walking the walk. Calgary desperately needs more housing and everyone knows it. But when it comes time to make the hard choices and think long-term….. This is very frustrating #housing #yyc

When it comes to improving life for the working class in this country, what do I hear? “No, no, no, we can’t afford it.” But when it comes to the military-industrial complex? “Yes, yes, yes” – with almost no debate. Congress needs to get its priorities straight.

Had a fantastic time this morning talking with folks across the country on CBC Radio morning shows about how changing climate is impacting how we experience winters in Canada. All of the discussion stemming from a great report from Climate Central. climatecentral.org/report/lost-wi…

This week, City Administration provided an overview of the outstanding considerations with the Govt of Alberta's Green Line alignment proposed in the AECOM report. The City identified $1.3 billion in known costs and risks that were not included in the AECOM proposal.

Did Devin Dreeshen & United Conservative Party of Alberta really decide to blow up a $7 billion infrastructure project based on a 2 page document pitched by a third party group? No wonder they don't want to stand behind their #greenlineyyc plan & cost share the risk. What a farce. livewirecalgary.com/2025/01/18/pro…
