After 3.5 great years at EPFL, I'm excited to share that I've joined CENTAI (Center for AI) as a research scientist! 🎉 After nearly a decade abroad, it feels great to be back in Italy 🇮🇹. Looking forward to new projects, collaborations, and experiences with NPLab and the institute!

Out iScience journal "Echo chamber formation sharpened by priority users" (doi.org/10.1016/j.isci…). We show the upshot of making changes in complex systems without properly addressing emergent behavior: verified users can drive polarization & echo chambers' formation in social media

Now out: "Mechanistic interplay between information spreading and opinion polarization" (arxiv.org/abs/2410.17151). We study the impact of spreading determinants (innovation, limited memory, etc) on information cascades & polarization in social media. Thx Henrique F. de Arruda @kleber_a_o

Now out "LLMs and generative agent-based models for complex systems research" (sciencedirect.com/science/articl…). We discuss how LLMs & Generative ABMs could shape research in complexity science & identify challenges and opportunities for future frontier cross-disciplinary research.

We are releasing DOCES (Dynamical Opinion Clusters Exploration Suite), a new Python library for studying opinion dynamics. Designed to simulate social network interactions, it allows you to model different features of social networks. Check it out at pypi.org/project/doces/

I am extremely honoured to receive the European Research Council (ERC) #ERCCoG award for #RUNES. For the next five years, I will be working on the mathematical, computational, and experimental (!!) sides to understand how higher-order interactions change how we think and coordinate.

Last of 2024: "Interplay of epidemic spreading and vaccine uptake under complex social contagion"(arxiv.org/abs/2412.11766). We investigate the interaction between disease dynamics (simple contagion) & vaccine uptake (complex contagion). Results show a rich phase space.
