I gave opening remarks at the Localization for Financial Sustainability meeting hosted by Kenya Red Cross in Nairobi. Since 2022, the localisation Alliance has been working to strengthen the financial and organizational sustainability of African National Societies.

Today, Sudan marks a grim milestone: over 700 days of deepening humanitarian crisis. Two years on, the suffering is immense—millions face hunger, fear, and loss daily. الهلال الاحمر السوداني are heroes on the front lines, but they need urgent support. We cannot look away.

on 23 June, I met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Guinea Conakry, Dr.Morissanda Kouyate. He praised IFRC Africa 's work & our support to the National Society, expressing his government's readiness to collaborate closely. Great to see such strong partnership potential.


Today, on my first visit to The Gambia, I had a meaningful meeting with the The Gambia Red Cross Society (GRCS) team—an opportunity to learn more about their impactful humanitarian work and the challenges they face. IFRC Africa remains committed to strengthening their capacity and impact.
