We've unveiled a national blue plaque for footballer John ‘Jack’ Leslie in Plymouth. 🔵 This year marks 100 years since Leslie became the first Black footballer to be called up for England in October 1925, only for the offer to be rescinded shortly afterwards.

This is brilliant. Jack Leslie is a name every football fan in England should know. Selected for England when he was a player at Plymouth Argyle he was denied his cap due to the colour of his skin. Jack’s story is a story worth sharing. And we are proud to tell it in Plymouth

This is a big positive step in getting children out of poverty and will reassure many on the Labour side about the purpose of government.
