Journey behind The Locavore! Chef Thomas Zacharias is WGSHA Manipal #alumnus from 18th Course BHM and the founder of The Locavore. Chef has more than 15years of culinary experience and his passion for food has driven him to explore local cuisines from different parts of the country.

Chef TZac also wanted to preserve the diminishing culinary traditions and practice sustainability. In his candid interview with Travel+ Leisure, Chef narrated his story, laying the foundation for The Locavore. His contribution to promoting local flavors is commendable.

Hello Locavores, we have an exciting update on our #WorliKoliwadaProject! Over the past several months, working in association with RPG Foundation's The Heritage Project, we've engaged with the local women from Worli Koliwada, representing native communities of this fishing village.

A few weeks ago, the incredibly kind folks at The Locavore visited our community kitchen in Kurla and later ran a remarkable campaign called #DoingGoodEveryDay! (remember, they sent out 50 baskets full of goodies to the top bidders!✨)

Thanks to their support, we successfully completed much-needed improvements, including a fresh paint job, the acquisition of three large storage containers, a water cooler, and an industrial-sized exhaust fan. These enhancements have significantly enhanced our functionality.

We cannot express enough how grateful we are to Chef Thomas and the wonderful team at The Locavore for their unwavering support and compassion 💚

Fun fact, Chef TZac played a pivotal role during the 2021 lockdown, helping us raise funds for the kitchen by selling granola online! We cherish these memories that remind us of the incredible impact we can create together. #KhaanaChahiye #Locavore #Zerohunger #Mumbai
