Try doing this in Singapore, Tokyo, Zürich, or any other city which still has a sense of civic decency. Living like this is a choice. We’ve chosen as a society to let people crap all over our public spaces. Proper penalties, proper enforcement, it’s not hard.

Here’s a badly designed junction on the £multimillion cycle path. Designer wants pedestrians to turn the corner to cross a cul de sac. Pedestrians just walk straight on from the path, with the manhole covers suggesting the pavement continues anyway. Grass will never grow here.

A landmark report on #heritage was published #OTD 75 years ago - 23 June 1950. Sir Ernest Gowers investigated how significant houses should be protected for future generations. 75 years on, his (plain) words still ring true. Read more about it here: historichouses.org/unfinished-bus…

The old Hotspur Press building in Manchester is badly on fire. Strange how when developers don’t get their way, buildings have a horrible habit of going on fire

SAVE is 50! 👩‍⚖️“If these campaigners are so keen to save the building, they can have it for £1.” In 1981, SAVE bought Barlaston Hall for £1 & laid the groundwork for the restoration that saved the building. This is what bold campaigning looks like. 🔗shorturl.at/4e12J

Architects train for 7 years to qualify. And then they produce this. Why bother? Seriously, what is the point? And what are they learning in architecture schools and being encouraged to do in practices?

Something similar should have gone into the former Black & White site. Instead, we have a very low density, very low architectural quality, vehicle dominated scheme that will age and weather badly. And we’re stuck with it for decades.

Simon’s right, 300k is a drop in the ocean. London has seen 23 out of 33 boroughs achieve ZERO starts in Q1 2025 with barely 1,200 shovels getting into the ground. England-wide 45.5k new approvals, lowest quarterly total on record since 2012. We are witnessing a slow-moving

We support this action and applaud CBC’s Planning Enforcement Team for their diligence and determination. Enforcement underpins the planning system. This case has been going on for years but hopefully this will bring the matter to a close.

What sort of impression does this sign on the A2 give to international visitors... that 'Broken Britain' is sadly true? All feedback will be given to KCC Highways As a nation, we CAN and MUST do much better.
