A6 #smalltowntouismchat Stay downtown if you can. Walk the community, shop in shops you've never heard of. Order something you've never eaten, seek out the specialty cocktail menu or drink a local craft beverage. Make it a local experience.

A1 #smalltowntourismchat We are happy we can make this month's chat. Ironically we've been traveling on a lot of the days that the chat has fallen on. We are foodies at heart so a road trip with good food, distilleries, breweries or wineries is high on our list. 📸Laura Grier

A2 #smalltowntourismchat Jerky is our go to. Packed with protein, compact and delicious. Deer, Elk, Beef, Turkey, Antelope, Bison. It doesn't matter to us! Even better if its from a local rancher.

A3 #smalltowntourismchat We love our handy dandy Waze fueled phone GPS to get where we are going. Anyone else race the ETA? We also hand out a TON of Wyoming maps in our visitor center to people who still like to see the bigger picture.

A4 #smalltowntourismchat If driving solo Podcast it is. If I'm with someone else we are probably blasting classing country or Red Dirt Country music along the trip. You'll probably also hear some 90's rock in there too.

A5 #smalltowntourismchat We recently took a road trip to Stillwater Oklahoma to see the reunion of Cross Canadian Ragweed. So, yeah, local events can drive travel. A lot of people come here in July to see the Daddy of 'em All, Cheyenne Frontier Days. 📸Brendan Byrne

A6 #smalltowntourismchat So many to choose from, especially here in the Rocky Mountains, but when you come over Togwotee Pass in Wyoming and the Tetons are laid out in front of you, that's magical. #thatswy

A7 #smalltowntourismchat I love boutique inns. They offer a little more privacy than a traditional B&B, and oftentimes an elevated level of service. However, we've stayed at some really cool Air BnB properties here and abroad.

A8 #smalltowntourismchat Anything ag related. It could be a farm stand, an ice cream shop a distillery or a winery. If it's grown in that area we want to experience it. A lot of people come to Cheyenne to buy their beef directly from the ranch. loom.ly/yhOkgiU

A9 #smalltowntourismchat All of the above. Sometimes its a simple as a road sign. On the way to OK a couple of weeks ago we passed by the world's largest ball of twine in the middle of no where Kansas.

A10 #smalltowntourismchat Great question. Telluride Colorado is at the top of the list here. We are game for almost any small town we can find though. Great people, hidden gems and America at its best. Thanks again for hosting this month! We are glad we could make it.

What are your dinner plans tomorrow night? How about slow cooked brisket, potatoes, cobbler and the rodeo. There are still seats left for the Chuck Wagon Dinner at the Hell on Wheels Rodeo tomorrow night. Reserve your spot before they are gone. loom.ly/dDinkQQ

A1: #SmallTownTourismChat Family friendly depends on where your family is at. My daughter is 17 now, and traveling with her is a blast. We love live music, great restaurants and cultural experiences. Cheyenne offers many of those, but also some awesome kid activities as well.

A2 #smalltowntourismchat We will keep it right here in Wyoming. This town is for the boys who love dinosaurs. Thermopolis has a very cool dinosaur center where kids can do their own dig. loom.ly/yJP-D0s

#A4 #SmallTownTourismChat Cheyenne actually just opened a children's museum this spring. It's small by mighty and its is the work of a group of dedicated volunteers who have put years in to fundraising and building out the first phase.

A1 #smalltowntourismchat Hosting the world's largest outdoor rodeo and celebration of western heritage, Cheyenne sees a lot of people who schedule their vacations around it. @chefrontierdays is a bucket list trip for many. We also plan around specific rodeos to go and visit.

A5 #smalltowntourismchat Our Haunted History Tours in October are big draw to Cheyenne. We load up our trolleys and tour the haunted locations in the city. As a former Wild West town, we have a lot of unrestful souls to experience.

a10 #smalltowntourismchat Replace the chocolate bar with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, or bar. (Yes they make big bars). So stinking good!
