We’re very excited to be working with the Glaucoma Team Eye Clinic CHFT on the UK MPTLT study, which aims to assess the efficacy of MicroPulse Transscleral Laser Therapy in the UK. 📸 This is Zuleikha Mulla, Nada, Elaina Corton, and Francesco’s first study working together! Go team! 👏🏽

Tips for supporting patients in hospital with Low Vision: - Small things like introducing yourself at each interaction can make a huge difference as some may not be able to recognise faces due to their eye condition

Supporting Visually Impaired Inpatients (cont:) Keep belongings and ward buzzers within reach, and let your patient know where their personal items are. Provide cutlery into their hands and put refreshments within reach and explain their locations before you leave

Supporting VI Inpatients (cont) Make sure to orientate patients with the layout of your area or department, so they know where to find the toilet or where to go for help. Support them in their first few journeys to and from bathrooms or nurses station while they learn the route

Leafy Greens - Spinach & Kale These are rich in lutein and zeaxanthin and help act like 'nutritional sunglasses' for the retina They are also full of vitamin A (for night vision), C & E (antioxidants) and Nitrates (For circulation) #VisionMatters #EyeHealthWeek #Ophthalmology
