This week we started our annual Youth District Advisory Council Summer Leadership Institute. In partnership with One Summer Chicago, 70+ youth will work with Chicago Police Officers for 6-weeks working to become better leaders in their communities.

This Friday, the Chicago Police Department will be hosting a Gun Turn-in at New Beginnings Church located at 6620 South King Drive.

Today Chef Lamar Moore and Mariano’s hosted a healthy cooking demo with the youth of our YDAC program. Youth and officers made a tasty appetizer that everyone enjoyed.

Lollapalooza starts today and officers are out to Kai everyone safe. Thank you to the Salvation Army for providing lunch for officers. Have fun and be safe Chicago!!

During this years Youth District Advisory Council Summer Leadership Program, we had 90 youth from across the city working with officers to become leaders in their communities. They participated in professional development workshops and youth forums throughout the summer.

Today we welcomed the Grundy County Sheriffs Office Youth Explorers to visit our Fusion Center. We are happy to show youth across the State of Illinois the day to day operations as they pursue a career in law enforcement.
