Had a great time at the Albina Music Trust on Saturday, celebrating their album release and honoring Black History Month. It was a privilege to be a part of the event where Portland's musical history was shared with a new generation of artists. albinamusictrust.com

I absolutely love when the cherry blossoms come out. Assistant Chief Lovell and I spent an hour walking along the beautiful waterfront talking with community members. The positive interactions give me so much hope for the future.

Another gathering of thousands exercising their rights to speak Downtown today. My heartfelt thanks to the Portland Police members who helped facilitate this peaceful event, and to the participants who shared info that allowed us to keep marchers and road users safe.

After learning that Honduran drug trafficking organizations were working with the Sinaloa Cartel & flooding our area with fentanyl & other drugs, PPB worked with partners to conduct numerous missions in February. Shared the results today.

Honored to receive the President’s Award at the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police Awards Banquet in Pendleton. This award is a testament to the great work of our sworn and professional staff!

Spent my Saturday attending the Rise Against Hate event at Lan Su Chinese Garden. I enjoyed catching up with community members & business leaders committed to standing up against hate and revitalizing the neighborhood.

For the second year in a row, The Salvation Army Cascade Division awarded PPB the Commander’s Trophy for outdueling our partners at Portland Fire & Rescue during Christmas bell ringing. While we’re thrilled, raising critical funds for the Salvation Army is an even greater victory!

This year marks the 10th for the Vanport Mosaic Festival. I spent my morning in North Portland taking a walking tour of the land where Vanport once stood. I now have an even greater appreciation for the area’s rich history. You can learn more here: vanportmosaic.org

We are receiving numerous inquiries regarding a police presence around North Portland. We know of 2 different activities: one is a police training for the PPB Crisis Negotiation Team. Another was a criminal warrant served by the US Postal Inspection Service and partners.
