Just finished reading Ijeoma Oluo’s book, So You Want To Talk About Race. Incredibly insightful. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to increase their understanding of racism and what they can do to fight it.

Just finished reading Toni Morrison’s novel BELOVED. A painful journey into the life of Africans enslaved in the United States. Morrison said she wanted not only her subject to be Black but the style as well. Among her numerous awards was a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993.

The Church remembers Mary Slessor, the Scottish Presbyterian missionary who did amazing work in Nigeria, my country of origin. I was greatly honoured to stand around her plaque with my family when we visited Dundee in 2019.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman to be nominated to the US Supreme Court: A useful advice to anyone following their aspiration but finding their environment difficult.

Just finished reading Ibram X Kendi’s “How to be an Antiracist”. Particularly struck by his view that the best way to fight racism is not by changing minds but by changing policies.
