Air pollution is a major trigger for asthma. Our children’s greatest exposure is when travelling to/from school along main roads & Red Routes. LTN schemes that increase congestion & emissions on our busy community roads clearly harm those already most at risk. #AskAboutAsthma

Apparently local labour councillor canvassing on Croxted today said that 1. Nobody had ever raised concerns about congestion and LTN 2. Congestion on Croxted had nothing to do with LTN - ‘on his mother’s grave’ Utterly disingenuous. His poor mother. Twofeetgood

Not sure much ‘afflunece’ research needed for Dulwich Village LTN. In an area where private schools commute in 9000 students daily - main roads where state school students live, walk cycle, use bus, now have those 4x4s stuck in congestion. Hellish for least culpable. Croxted Clean Air too

It’s been a long few years! The least culpable children who have ALWAYS walked, cycled, scooted to school, get to deal with *INCREASED OFTEN STANDSTILL* congestion, pollution and danger just cos they live on or use a main road. NOT ONE MAIN ROAD MEASURE Twofeetgood

This is where road safety action should have started imho. And at Tulse Hill where hundreds of children cross the most dangerous congested roads. Croxted Clean Air too

17/06/25: 08.21am Croxted Road SE21 Come rain or shine New normal for Croxted families who walk scoot or cycle to school. Congestion. Noise. Horrible. Measures for main roads? (After 5 years, none!) ⁦Helen Hayes 💙🌹⁩ ⁦(((Rezina))) 🌹🐝⁩ ⁦⁦Croxted Clean Air too

I do wonder what this has done for community cohesion. Even after 5 years of congestion -I’m proud that Croxted RA would NOT agree to a plan that makes life worse for Norwood Road neighbours. We are West Dulwich families too. #Mainroadfamilies. Croxted Clean Air too

I walk this way every day to school. As said before, I turn myself into a lollipop person to help the 100s of school kids navigate this junction. Lights and phasings are tricky for pedestrians. An *actual* lollipop lady would be a start! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Then speed cams Then redesign.

Better Streets West Dulwich What do those bus priority measures look like ? We have no idea. It would be good if we could be part of the discussion (((Rezina))) 🌹🐝 Lambeth Labour We are very concerned about speeding cars and our vulnerable residents claire hitchcock

claire hitchcock (@chitchclaire) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Please include Croxted residents in discussions 🙏. We’ve reached out many times -have experience as well as the most up to date data to respond intelligently to Croxted. How can plans be made without residents involved? Trust at all time low 🙁 (((Rezina))) 🌹🐝 Lambeth Labour

This kind of counter community bickering has come from LTN culture. On Croxted we now have peak time congestion which makes walking and cycling to school horrible. Fact. It’s worse now post LTN in DV. Bus times slowed so #3 frequency cut. Bus is packed. Ask school kids. And TfL

Better Streets West Dulwich Twofeetgood Croxted Clean Air too How do you explain average bus speeds slowing since 2019, whilst traffic counts are actually down? The explanation is a new factor promoting congestion of public transport routes by private cars. LTN advocates should sell their cars and bang the drum for others to do the same.

claire hitchcock (@chitchclaire) 's Twitter Profile Photo

NOT true for walking cycling and scooting families without cars on Croxted road. Ask them. We are neighbours and yet you seem to know nothing of the significant difficulties we suffer. No one here ‘pro car’ all pro cycle lane and public transport. Heartbreaking to hear. 😞

claire hitchcock (@chitchclaire) 's Twitter Profile Photo

What ‘additional measures’ have you called for? We can share ours and we have been granted none despite terrible congestion - NO road crossings and regular crashes.

The major water leak on East Dulwich Grove is causing havoc for residents & disrupting the education of pupils at Charter North Dulwich School The poor communication from Thames Water 💧 since Thursday is totally unacceptable When will repairs be complete & water supply restored?
