Hungary is apparently “the least prosperous country in the EU.” I was in Budapest last November, and it was the cleanest and safest capital I’ve visited. Compare that with "prosperous" London, where you're lucky if you don't get your phone nicked on your way home.

Finally, a tacit admission from the Government. It wasn’t simply the price of natural gas that drove Britain’s energy bills to be some of the highest in the developed world, as they like to claim. It was successive government policy.

Speak to anyone in the North and they will tell you the exact opposite. London used to be an exciting place we would visit maybe once every couple of years for a special occasion to experience the rich culture and history of our capital. Now we avoid it like the plague.

Modern warfare isn't just fought on the battlefield. On June 12, dozens of anonymous pro-Scottish independence accounts on X suddenly went quiet following Israeli strikes on Iran. Researchers say these fake accounts made upwards of 4% of all posts on the issue in early 2024.

I'm quite surprised by how many people — including Southerners — agreed with this sentiment. Fraser used data to say London’s better than ever. But when thousands of people across the country say the opposite, maybe the problem isn’t with them. Maybe it’s with the data.

I don't know, Larry. Wikipedia has an entire article detailing how they aren't ideologically captured. It's on Wikipedia, so it must be true!

Starmer burned huge political capital whipping MPs to back winter fuel cuts, only to U-turn and make them look like fools. So it’s no wonder they’re forcing yet another climbdown. You can only waste your MPs’ loyalty so many times. Quite the precarious position for Starmer.

Truly an absurd thing to say. Why are there walls around Glastonbury? Is it because if you let everyone in, you would ruin it for the people who paid to be there?

An excellent piece from Chris Middleton Middleton. He believes "The UK wasn’t built by immigrants, but British emigrants built the world". If you look at the "Anglosphere: the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, was not just shaped by British emigrants; it was, in many cases, founded
