Proud of this guy and all the hard work he has put into his dissection and data collection for his #AMSA22 poster! Ask Nico about legacy effects of bleaching on reproduction! Great work! Australian Institute of Marine Science

And the system's on its way! With a huge truck, lots of pallets, all hands on deck, and pizza to keep us going, we transported, delivered and assembled the system for on-country spawning today! She starts the journey tomorrow! Australian Institute of Marine Science BHP #WCP SeaSim Christine Giuliano

Our onboard aquaculture system, the marvellous creation of Christine Giuliano and SeaSim, is fully stocked with fecund corals ready to spawn! 😀🪸🪸🌝 Wonder how many nights they will keep us waiting?🤔 #ACRRI #spawning #GBR

Fish & photogrammetry surveys are the focus for Reef Song’s last field trip to Lizard Island, northern #GreatBarrierReef, this season. They’re studying the relationship between fish + coral growth to boost reef recovery and resilience. More: bit.ly/3O0BaPt #ACRRI BHP

2024 Great Barrier Reef widespread bleaching event unfolding. Very high (60-90% corals cover) and extreme (>90% coral cover) prevalence of coral bleaching is clearly visible from aerial surveys on a third of the surveyed reefs, across all 3 regions of the Great Barrier Reef.
