Hello everyone, meet Christine Ta Christine Ta who is a Second year Graduate Student in the MicroARCH lab and at Penn State Anthropology. She grew up in NYC and earned her BSc in Forensic Science Toxicology with the initial hope of becoming a forensic pathologist.

She grew up in NYC and earned her BSc in Forensic Science Toxicology with the initial hope of becoming a forensic pathologist.

These experiences gave her the opportunity to garner experiences in teaching non-science major students about environmental science, and in facilitating outreach workshops where she taught kids, adolescents, and adults about evolutionary anthropology, forensics, and DNA.

She is now interested in how the use of antimicrobial agents in the last 70 years (a period also known as the Great Acceleration) may have shifted the oral microbiome and its implication on human health & disease risks. Her favorite food is Bo Kho (Vietnamese Braised Beef Stew).
