We had the pleasure of hosting Eyal Marder from IU Earth & Atmos Sci this week who presented his work on the interplay of tectonics, climate, and biodiversity in mountain landscapes.

New EAPS faculty memeber Gaia Stucky de Quay (Stuck On Earth: League) wants to know how climate changes landscapes, both on Earth and other planets like Mars. She's looking forward to fostering a diverse, hollistic approach to interplanetary science. bit.ly/3Hzvtod

How do tectonically quiet areas like the Appalachians influence biodiversity? A new study suggests river erosion as a driving force, separating fish into different river tributaries and allowing them to evolve into different lineages. MIT Science bit.ly/3OFtGSV

New images confirm the #MarsHelicopter sustained rotor damage during Flight 72. Our helicopter has flown its final flight. Ingenuity defied the odds and captured our hearts. #ThanksIngenuity for showing us what’s possible when we dare mighty things. go.nasa.gov/3HvSPef

Our "global dataset of the shape of drainage systems" is now available - contains shape and vector data for drainage basin >50km2, derived from 90m grids. Useful for #geomorphology, #hydrology, #geology, and #catchment science. essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/11…
