Today at approx 1245, crews responded to a fully involved garage fire with extension into the house. Crews quickly Extinguished fire and assisted in evacuation of residents. Residents were evaluated on and released on scene.

This morning at approx 540, crews responded to a 2 story commercial building with fire on second floor. Crews contained fire to conference room and quickly extinguished. Cause still under investigation. No civilian or fire injuries or fatalities

🔥Vegetation Fire 🔥 Today at approximately 1545, crews responded to a vegetation fire off the side of Otay Lakes Rd. CVFD and Bonita FD Crews quickly attacked the fire and extinguished within an hour. No structures threatened. No civilian or firefighter injuries or fatalities

Crews currently on scene of a large scrap metal fire behind a recycling facility on 2800 block of Main Street. Forward progress of fire has stopped, extensive overhaul and water operations will continue for the next 2-3 hours.

CVFD is monitoring the Border 2 fire on Otay Mountain. San Diego County units are on scene. Although smoke is visible, at this time there is no threat to the city of Chula Vista. For latest updates, continue to monitor social media and download Genasys Protect in the App Store.
