Alleluia! Christ is Risen! Our best attended Easter Vigil since before the Pandemic, including some young adult men worshipping with us for the first time… perhaps the recently reported research is actually right… #OswestryFamily

May the angels lead you into paradise: may the martyrs receive you as you arrive, and bring you into the holy city of Jerusalem. May the choir of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, once a beggar, may you have eternal rest.

The sun is shining at an unusually quiet Milton Keynes station where the ticket barriers are unstaffed today and my train is leaving from the wrong platform! Off to the West Midlands to meet clergy colleagues ahead of new appointments in the coming months.

If you are in the SW, the Bishop’s next Regional Festival is in the beautiful setting of Hollacombe, in deep rural NW Devon. #OswestryFamily

Around 500 years’ worth of my family are buried in the churchyards of these rural churches. Beautiful places and very friendly people, in a slightly off the beaten track part of the world. Praying that someone might hear God’s call to serve them in this very supportive Diocese.

On my way home after a busy but productive week working out of Exeter. I had a choice of via Paddington or Birmingham, hoping I’ve made the right choice!

We assure Bishop David Bishop of Truro the new Bishop of Diocese of Truro of our prayers as he begins his ministry, and thank Hugh Nelson for his diligent care of the Diocese during the vacancy in See. We look forward to an ongoing and fruitful partnership. #OswestryFamily

My last week working full-time for the Bishop. Next week will be a transition week, today, meanwhile, I’m off to Lichfield for the quarterly staff meeting. I’m continuing as Vicar-General in a part-time capacity thereafter, alongside full time parish ministry. #OswestryFamily

The Bishop of Oswestry had the privilege of celebrating the National Pilgrimage Mass at The Shrine of OLW today. Excellent turnout, and probably the youngest average age I can recall, lots of children, families and adults 18-40s, and ethnically diverse too, and from all over the UK.
