No aftershock of the M6.9 Morocco earthquake has (as of yet) exceeded a magnitude 5. Most aftershocks (purple stars) are located in a cluster towards the NE from the mainshock epicenter.

Satellite data confirms that the fault that generated the M6.9 Morocco earthquake is a north-dipping NE-SW striking reverse fault, with the rupture not reaching the surface. This is consistent with the focal mechanism and aftershock locations.
