A rare chance to get up close to an iconic railway structure today, and to hear about the work which goes into keeping the Forth Bridge in good condition by Network Rail Scotland and Balfour Beatty engineers. Of course, we had to watch an London North Eastern Railway Azuma pass over on its way from Aberdeen

Itโ€™s not my #litter but Iโ€™m making it my responsibility Refuse to accept litter in your neighbourhood. Remove it & less gets dropped. It works! Litterโ€™s not normal. Letโ€™s make NOT dropping it & picking some up the norm. 2 dog bags worth of litter removed from this #Ayr street.

By the end of the month we'll have finished replacing 40mph signs throughout the city. From 21 July look out for new 30mph speed limits on Old Liston Road, Calder Road and Glasgow Road (west) and help make our streets safer for everyone.

This appalling penny-pinching tells you everything you need to know about the approach of cllrs & officials in Edinburgh towards events that are the envy of cities across the world. Donโ€™t forget the same folk signed off ยฃ1.7m in Tour de France funding. heraldscotland.com/news/25336311.โ€ฆ

How has BBC News (UK) got this so wrong? They acknowledge the perpetrators were riding a Talaria motorcycle, yet they're talking about dangerous cycling? Here's some advice: a motorcycle is not a bicycle, and riding one is not "cycling".

As we head toward August and the worst excesses of poorly managed over-tourism, the folk of Edinburgh will be lectured on how fortunate we are to have so many profiting from our public spaces, how much fun over crowded public transport is on the way to work etc.

If only there was an organisation in Edinburgh that could do something about pavement parking. This pavement in bruntsfield has recently been repaired - due to damage caused by vehicles parking in it. Road is 4 lanes if tarmac wide here

Spotted full, blue-coloured sandbag, a potential trip hazard, on Drumbrae South roundabout EH12 pavement yesterday evening. Put it back on temporary road sign around corner where presume it came from. #WhoPutThatThere

Hi Kia UK, your dealship in Dunfermline is refusing to do anything about a vehicle transporter completely blocking a footpath outside the city's biggest public park. Why is this acceptable? Do you have a risk assessment available for this activity?

โ€œIt's shocking how much there is. We realised we're walking around constantly blind to this litter problem. When you notice it, itโ€™s all you can see. I see it everywhere now, I just constantly see litter. It just opens your eyes to it.โ€ theguardian.com/environment/20โ€ฆ
