Tonight, I was honored to help introduce my predecessor Rick Pfeiffer as he was officially inducted into the City of Columbus’ Hall of Fame. Rick is a remarkable man and public servant, and I’m reminded of his lasting impact on our city every day.

Federal gun regulations only work if they’re enforced. That’s why Columbus stepped up to pass our own laws get illegal guns and criminals off our streets. I applaud Judge Peeples for upholding our right to self-govern. We’ll keep fighting to keep our kids and communities safe.

Tonight I attended a moving ceremony honoring our fallen police officers. I’m deeply grateful to the men and women of Columbus Division of Police who made the ultimate sacrifice, and my heart goes out to their surviving loved ones.

For years, Linda Henry has been a tireless advocate for unity and community safety on the South Side and across Columbus. It was an honor to join friends, neighbors, and city leaders this morning to recognize and celebrate Linda’s indelible impact on our neighborhoods.

No two days in this job are the same—and that’s one of my favorite things about it. From tackling public safety challenges to welcoming our summer law clerks and breaking ground on an exciting development, here’s a look at a day in my life as City Attorney.

As City Attorney, I’ve fought to pass safe storage laws, reform our broken criminal background check system, and take guns out of the hands of violent criminals. There’s so much more to do, and we need everyone in this fight. #WearOrange today to show your support 🟧

Gun violence and domestic violence often go hand in hand and threaten the lives of victims, their families, and even law enforcement. At last night’s #WearOrange vigil at City Hall, I called on our community to stand together against domestic violence to help save lives. 🟧

For the past 5 years, my office has teamed with Columbus Division of Police and Franklin University on Community Immersion, a program that gives new officers the chance to better understand the areas they’ll be assigned to. It’s been a huge win for public safety and a model for policing nationwide.

Here in Columbus, we celebrate progress, champion diversity, and condemn hate. Hate has no home here. My message to our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors is simple: We’ve got your back. šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

Each year, I look forward to marching alongside our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors to celebrate Pride. Each step forward is a reminder of the progress that’s been made and the work still to do. Happy Pride, Columbus. šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

A federal judge has just ordered the Trump administration to restore funding for infectious disease programs, including $3.1 million to Columbus Public Health. We won’t back down as this administration defies Congress, ignores, the law, and endangers public health and safety.

We saw many smiling faces, and even people in their cars honking horns in shared celebration at the Juneteenth parade today in Linden. Today’s a good reminder that if we work together, we can expand on the promise of freedom and justice for all.

The landlords of a Hilltop apartment complex agreed to a court order requiring improvements at their property. This follows community complaints and calls for service for trash, violence and squatting. It’s a positive step, but we will monitor the situation to ensure compliance.
