Representatives from Hastings Fire & Rescue and the Development Services Department inspected the 11 fireworks stands in Hastings, so the stands can open Saturday. Brandon McDermott with KHAS Radio was on hand too to film content about fireworks safety.

Mayor Jay Beckby was among volunteers sacking groceries at the Hastings Walmart on Friday as part of fundraising efforts for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals ongoing June 9 to July 6. The Hastings store is leading fundraising efforts among the 12-store Walmart Region.

Thanks to the volunteers who repainted the Compass Rose on the tarmac at the Hastings Municipal Airport on Friday. The Compass Rose was originally painted in 2021 by members of the 99s female pilot organization. A couple of those 99s returned for the repainting.
