Officers gave chase after a man, who was suspected of using nitrous oxide in his car, fled. Tafari Panton, 22,of Kemp Road, Enfield, was quickly caught. We searched his car & drugs found. He pled guilty to possession with intent to supply & sent to prison for two & half years.

A bag thief was chased down and arrested after plain-clothed officers spotted him stealing a bag. Emad Lechhed, 26, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to four months in jail for theft and has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from entering the City for two years.

From 1 August, anyone caught in possession of a ninja sword could face a prison sentence under new measures. Owners can surrender them at Bishopsgate Police Station, under the Government-led scheme which runs until 31 July. More info at cityoflondon.police.uk/news/city-of-l…
