🚨 Boil Water Advisory in Effect for City of Richmond 🚨 The City of Richmond, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, has issued an immediate Boil Water Advisory for all residents served by the City’s water system.

📢 Weather Alert: Due to inclement weather, all non-essential City of Richmond offices will be closed on Tues, Jan 7. Essential personnel should report as scheduled. Stay safe and informed by checking updates from the NWS, local news, and our social media platforms.

🚨Update on the water plant restoration.🚨 As of 9 a.m., the City continues work to restore water production. The water plant systems are stabilizing and are likely to progress to water production early afternoon. Residents are urged to continue conserving water when possible.

📢Attention! Water production has been restored, but water pressure will take time to stabilize. Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until all safety tests are complete. Please continue conserving water and we will continue to keep everyone updated.

Heads Up Richmond! Trash pick up will be delayed by at least a day this week. Please leave your supercans out, and DPW will be through your neighborhood as soon as it is safe!

The reservoir is almost at full capacity. As a reminder, the reservoir holds up to 18 feet of water. We are asking that residents continue conserving water as we get the last zone up to 20psi. Please remember that the boil water advisory is still in effect.

🌨️ Delayed Opening Alert 🌨️ Due to tonight’s wintry weather, City of Richmond offices will open at 10 a.m. on 1/22/25. Light snow is expected to end by 12 am, but low temperatures may cause black ice. Employees should contact their supervisors to confirm reporting times.

Boil Water Advisory Update – May 28 💧The Department of Public Utilities has reported that our first water test sample came back negative for both impacted water zones. This news gets us one step closer to lifting the Boil Water Advisory, but the Advisory is not lifted yet.

Update on May 29 at 2:30 pm: The Boil Water Advisory covering parts of Richmond City has been lifted. Mayor Avula will also share official updates with media outlets at a 4:30 p.m. press conference. Afterwards, his remarks will be uploaded to youtube.com/CityRichmondVA.

Post-Boil Water Advisory Update : Richmond VA DPU has determined that residents and businesses do not need to flush pipes or replace filters after this week’s BWA. Food service establishments should consult their dedicated health department inspector for support following the BWA.
