Gadsden's landfill, located at 111 Burns Way Drive, will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. The landfill is regularly open on the last Saturday morning of every month, but it will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 31, due to the Labor Day weekend holiday.

Important notice for visitors to Noccalula Falls: Construction will start Monday (Aug. 26) on the parking lot at the wedding chapel and Black Creek Trails. Please park in the lot near Jack's or at the main parking lot by the gift shop when visiting the park.

You've only got a few more days left to cool off at the Splash Pad before it closes for the season after Labor Day! The Splash Pad is located on the Coosa River Boardwalk next to Chili's, and it is currently open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will be closing on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

You're invited to the annual 9/11 Memorial at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. This event is presented by the Gadsden Beautification Board, and it will be held downtown at the corner of 4th St. and Broad St. Gadsden Fire Chief Wil Reed will be the keynote speaker.

If you went to last Saturday's Fly-In at the Northeast Alabama Regional Airport, you got to see some of the recent improvements. Our airport handles people that are passing through as well as military operations, air cargo operations and more. It's a great asset for our city!
