This morning members of the City Council along with other key leaders, project partners and neighbors broke ground on Olathe’s Fire Station 9 (20500 College Blvd.). The Council authorized the project in 2023 to help meet increasing emergency service demands in north Olathe.

Deputy Public Works Director Beth Wright was named the Women’s Transportation Seminar - Kansas City Chapter 2025 Woman of the Year, which honors a woman who is an outstanding role model and has contributed to the advancement of women and minorities in transportation.

Beginning May 19, Cedar Lake Park will be closed to the public for sewer construction and dam restoration, until the project is complete in 2026. Cedar Creek Trail from Lake Olathe to Cedar Lake will also be closed during this period to accommodate construction.
