Did you get your trees from the Waukee Canopy program yet? Pick out two low-cost trees at Waukee.org/Canopy. Plant so the root flare shows, water well all season and mulch it so you can see the trunk all the way to the ground. Pick up your trees on October 1.

Starting October 22, 2025, MidAmerican Energy will take over gas service in Waukee. Your October bill will be the last one with gas charges from the City. Gas service will be added to the same MidAmerican Energy account for your address. More info at Waukee.org/Gas.

Starting Monday, Sept. 29, the Triumph Park playground will be closed for preventative maintenance. Please stay off the surface and wait for the all clear. Stepping on the surface too soon can cause permanent, costly damage. Reminder that this area is monitored by cameras.

The last day for curbside yard waste pick-up is Monday, November 24. If you have pumpkins, leaves or sticks to clear out, place them in yard waste bins or biodegradable bags before 7 a.m. Keep bins or bags under the 40-pound maximum weight, so collectors can safely pick them up.

The Waukee Police Department helps brighten the holidays for local families in need with Thanksgiving baskets. If you’d like to help a family enjoy a warm meal, drop a cash or check donation at the front office of the Waukee Public Safety Building, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

All City of Waukee offices will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. Trash and recycling pick-up for those days is delayed by one day. If you have a utility payment, you can use our drive-up dropbox in the parking lot in front of City Hall or pay online.

If you are traveling this week, get winter gear in your car and allow extra time for slick and snowy roads. Check road conditions before setting out.

Snow Emergency Parking Ban in Waukee will run 10 PM, Friday, Nov. 28-noon, Sunday, Nov. 30. Do not park your car on the street during the ban to help snow crews efficiently and safely clear snow. Vehicles remaining on City streets are subject to a $25 fine and/or towing.
