Interesting if dispiriting - Gramsci's Russian grandson tells us how the Russian majority want Putin's 'stability' Corriere della Sera -
Il nipote di Gramsci

che sostiene Putin:

«Voi non capite,

il Paese è con lui»
edicola-pdf.corriere.it/SIPOL_BE_H5_JA…

Well said, Peter Hennessy. But despite his claims the PM actually has no real sense of history - or of shame. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

US policy toward Russia continues to be plagued by lack of rhetorical discipline. First calling for regime change, now goal of weakening Russia. This only increases Putin’s case for escalating & shifts focus away from Russian actions in Ukraine & toward Russia-US/NATO showdown.

Truss’s speech, a considered statement of UK policy, seems feverish in tone. In setting aims - for another state - at the maximum level it fools no one and resembles attention seeking more than strategy.

Kwarteng told the FT last week that the UK’s ability to respond quickly over Ukraine was a major benefit of Brexit. This is laughable and disingenuous. The EU did not stop our action in Libya in 2011 and indeed crucially supported the UK at the UN over the Falklands in 1982.

Dover ferry queue at complete standstill with no information or water supplies on a day of extreme weather. Is ANYONE responsible?

The University Pension scheme (USS) would seem to have had about one third of its assets allocated to LDIs in 2021. Does anyone know what the position is now?

Humbled to see in print my article on International Interventionism in #BiH🇧🇦. Thanks to Christopher Hill for encouraging me to write. I did this in the name of open diplomacy and dedicate it to peace loving people in the #Balkans. Opinions mine, not Farnesina 🇮🇹. brill.com/view/journals/…

Braverman’s constant references to ‘foreign’ courts when she means ‘international’ ones which we subscribe to is of course deliberate. But it is still disgraceful.

Blood is used in so many ways by the NHS. Blood cancer treatments require blood support for patients. I am grateful to blood donors for their support during my treatment.
