Childminders I’ve met want to mind and spend time with the children they look after, they don’t want to be sitting at the table doing paperwork. We have to find the balance here. We need Childminders.

Terrible news confirmed this morning that a gentleman has died in the house fire yesterday evening. A horrendous tragedy. May his gentle soul rest in peace. As a community, I know we will rally around to support in any way we can.

Having engaged with Corrinne in The Irish Foster Care Association I have written to both Ministers Foley and Calleary on the announced extension of the BSCFA to Foster Carers. It appeared positive but the means test will lock many Foster Carers out. Government should review this urgently.

Welcome news for Early Years Educators at long last! €15 per hour (min) is the very least deserved and must be built on. This needs to be in place for Sept. We need urgent review of core funding. Mechanism for pay must also be reviewed. I will continue to advocate for Educators

This report is significant in terms of recommendations for the Mother & Baby Institutions Payment Scheme. The 6 month rule should be removed and institutions excluded need to be included. We have said this repeatedly. Minister must act now and do right by Survivors.
