Day 2 for the 40th Cleveland Fire Training Academy Class featured tips for staying safe on social media. The 35-member class is beginning a 22-week journey. The first part is Emergency Medical Technician Training. Fire Training will begin June 23rd. Welcome aboard!

ALONG FOR THE RIDE Today’s Emergency Medical Technician training for the 40th #CLEFIRE Academy Class included transporting victims after extrication from motor vehicle accidents. Cadets practiced moving patients down stairs to simulate challenges they will face in the field.

Cleveland Fire on the scene for today’s Senior Day at Public Hall downtown. The Public Education Unit handed out Fire Safety Information and CFD swag. Paramedic Engine 20 came down to assist seniors leaving the event. What a great turnout! Stay Safe, Seniors!

Members of #CLEFIRE Hazmat & Technical Rescue teams performed OSHA Required annual representative confined space entry behind Fire Station 13 today. They simulated rescuing a man down in a sewer tunnel. 60% of confined space deaths are would-be rescuers.

This morning’s 21st Annual Firefighters Memorial Ride honored firefighters who lost their lives in the last year including Cleveland Firefighter Shawn Calvey. 500 motorcycles gathered at The Cleveland Firefighters Memorial for a brief ceremony before riding out.
