Yesterday, I met with the Minister for Competition, Justin Madders, to discuss regulating online marketplaces to protect consumers and high street businesses. I’ve pushed for greater regulations for months; finally, the Minister committed to implementing regulations by mid-2026.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, to discuss the importance of drug development, particularly in cancer care. The UK needs to become the world’s cancer research superpower, to attract investment and tackle cancer.

Wokingham is proudly home to premium independent brewers, such as Elusive Brewing, who won Best IPA at the Champion Beer of Britain awards. But they need support. I questioned the Govt. on what is being done to ensure people in Wokingham can enjoy great local products in pubs.

Huge thanks to our MP Clive Jones MP for supporting us in seeking to improve access to our local market. SIBA's ongoing campaigning in this area is vital.

People from Hong Kong have come to this country and contributed massively to our communities, especially in Wokingham. It would be a breach of trust for the Govt to pull the rug on Hong Kongers with BN(O) status – people in Wokingham need clarity now. wokingham.today/please-dont-ab…

It’s common sense that infrastructure, like GP surgeries, is needed alongside new houses. We see this in Wokingham where people find it increasingly difficult to access a GP. It’s a shame the Govt hasn't listened to our proposal, but my Lib Dem colleagues and I will keep pushing.

This week, I have taken part in important debates in Parliament, and met with key Ministers to ask questions on local and national matters. I also met with constituents in Wokingham about their issues and concerns. Here are some of the things I have done this week:

People in rural and semi-rural areas, like Wokingham, have seen their bus services deteriorate under years of Tory neglect, leaving many stranded and isolated. Today I called on the Minister to ensure councils like Wokingham will not see their funding for local bus services cut.

People in Wokingham rely on Thames Water for basic human needs, and yet people tell me it has failed in its duty, and has no financial future. Today, I called for Government time to discuss turning Thames Water into a Public Benefit Company, run for the good of the environment.

This week I met with the Cancer Minister, Ashley Dalton, to discuss key priorities for an effective National Cancer Plan. I’ve long called for vital improvements in cancer care, like a legally binding guarantee to meet the 62-day waiting time target, to ultimately save lives.

This week has been filled with more debates and opportunities for me to question the Govt on issues affecting us in Wokingham – like bus services. I also visited residents to speak about issues affecting them in our area. Here are some of the things I have done this week:

I have heard from so many parents in Wokingham that their children cannot get the ADHD medication they desperately need. Today, I made sure the Minister understood that this failure to provide care sets many children up to fail, and tragically a few end up falling into crime.

This week was filled with very important events. In Parliament I hosted a reception for the charity Breast Cancer Now. In Wokingham I held a public interview covering my first year as MP, also answering questions from residents. Here are some of the things I have done this week:
