The Labour Government is reinstating winter fuel payments for all but the wealthiest pensioners. This means that around three quarters of pensioners will receive the £200 (£300 for over 80s) payment from the government to help them with their heating bills.

TH Labour Group are pleased that the government listened to local Labour parties, trade unions and the charity sector on this issue – the return of this payment + the number of pensioners who have signed up for p credit, means that pensioners will be better off under Labour.
