In yesterday’s paper I offered some post ⁦The City of Edinburgh Council⁩ budget thoughts. Limited room for manoeuvre but ⁦Edinburgh Conservatives⁩ attempted to make social care better. It is now over to others. Page 23 app.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/story/full_pag…

My column in the Edinburgh Evening News today. Regrettably too many councillors were unwilling to let Edinburgh Women’s Aid maintain their necessary single sex programmes and spaces.

Asthma + Lung UK Scotland Scottish Government World Health Organization (WHO) Scottish Parliament PM2.5 is already sitting on the revised WHO Guideline Value and urban concentrations are some of the lowest in the WORLD! Nitrogen dioxide is also getting close to revised value - particulary in the residential area (where people live).

My column in ⁦Edinburgh Evening News⁩ today highlights yet more asks for spending the still to be collected tourist tax. Don’t expect any proceeds to be fixing your local roads and pavements any time soon. More tax. More waste. Poorer economy.

Very sad to hear Sir Tom Farmer has passed away. An honour to have worked under his chairmanship of Scotland Against Drugs, to have hosted him at an Edinburgh Riding of the Marches dinner to toast our city, and to have shared his joy at Hibernian Football Club 2016 Cup win. RIP Sir Tom.

Edinburgh traffic: Council plans will leave only one main east-west route through city. If you agree with me that’s not sufficient or resilient and will just cause traffic displacement it’s time to tell the council to change its ways. edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinburgh…

Looks like an early example of what I highlighted this week as the Park is fully closed for an event. Long queues at Craigmillar. No resilience!

Iain Whyte Edinburgh Evening News The City of Edinburgh Council They need to get on with managing the city. Fix the potholes and poor road surfaces that are so bad, they're DANGEROUS. Unblock the road drains and remove the weeds in the gutter. Forget the career enhancing vanity projects and stop telling us how we should live.

The notorious Sheriffhall roundabout remains neglected by SNP Ministers after more than fifteen years and millions of pounds on planning.  It’s time to prioritise this key piece of local and national infrastructure.   If you agree, join my campaign ! edinburghconservatives.org.uk/campaigns/its-…
