The Hornets made a dramatic comeback in the bottom of the 6th scoring 5 runs on 3 hits and taking the lead 6-4 against the Panthers. Hudson Thomason & RidgeSoutherland2025 each with a 2 RBI single & Blake Scoggins with a single. Jake Elliott with a RBI single & Jeremiah Motes with a DBL.
Offensively the Hornets collected 11 walks and 2 hits. Hudson Thomason went 1-2 with a bunt single and 3 walks, Jaxon Riggs went 1-1 with a bunt single, sac bunt & 2 walks, rico simmons collected 3 walks and Blake Scoggins had 2RBIS.
It was a tight race to the end, but the Hornets pulled out a 4-3 victory over Benton. Offensively the Hornets had 4 hits. Blake Scoggins with 2 2B & 1 RBI, Jake Elliott with a 2B & 1 RBI, rico simmons with a 1B & Hudson Thomason with 1B, Sac B & BB.
On the mound stats: Wyatt Taylor 2 innings pitched 2H, 1 ER and zero walks. Blake Brower 2.2 innings pitched 4H, 2 ER, 1BB and 3 SO. Jeremiah Motes 2.0 innings pitched 0H, 0R, 3BB and 2 SO. Kolby Duncan closed it out with the last batter producing an out.
Pitching was strong for both teams, but Conway’s hitting was a bit stronger in their 2-0 win. Eli Berry went 7 innings giving up 7 hits, 2 runs, striking out 3 and walking non. Hornets had two hits on the night Hudson Thomason with a bunt single and Jake Elliott with a single.
Hornets were strong on the mound tonight. Blake Brower pitched 4I with 2H, 0R, 2BB & 4SO. Jeremiah Motes pitched 3I, with 1H, 0R, 1BB & 1SO. Offensively Kolby Duncan lead the team with 2 1B & 1 RBI, Jaxon Riggs with 1B & 2 RBIs, Jonathan Carter 1B & 1RBI & Hudson Thomason with 1B.
Hornets grabbed a 3-1 win in the 1st round of State Playoffs. Eli Berry was a force, pitching all 7 innings giving up 4H, 1ER & striking out 8. Offensively Hudson Thomason went 2-3 & 2 runs scored. Blake Scoggins with a RBI 1B, Jake Elliott with 2B. Colt Martin’s SF scored 1.
