As soon as a lane is blocked, great queues form. That's just one problem with our overloaded roads. And that's why the temporary congestion charge is needed for rapid relief from congestion. Think positive and support the consultation.

UK Government needs £3 million? Simple, reverse Sunak's 5p cut to Fuel Duty, which benefits mostly wealthy households who have bigger cars and drive them more. This also reduces road congestion, casualties, climate change - and boosts public health and public transport.

£10m has been awarded to Oxfordshire County Council for bus service improvements. From August, the funding will support increasing the X32 & X40 weekday services from Didcot and Reading to Oxford to every 20 minutes, and new Sunday buses in Bicester, Banbury and Chipping Norton.

Oxford has the 3rd best (lowest) retail vacancy rate in the country. Beaten only by Cambridge and London - which also have high walking and cycling rates, and have reduced traffic on key streets.
