Part 2 of Boo's presentation on Hamstrings. Part 1 got a LOT OF LISTENS. Does this mean the hamstring is a particularly vexing problem? Well, then don't miss the continuation of his presentation. Be sure to share it with your staff! pod.fo/e/34c549

I get asked about college recruiting for sports A LOT. The best thing you can do isn't pay for a service. It's send a simple e-mail to the coach that includes: Name, School, Year... Best performances and where they took place. Academics: Class rank/Test scores. Coaches names

Young Coaches- Have fun and don't try to feel pressure to impress people. Get the work done, enjoy the process, and you will be fine. Today, even grown adults, in their 40s and 50s, are struggling with this. Confidence comes from being prepared regardless of your position.

Steve Kerr’s advice to parents of young athletes ”Keep your mouth shut… How can you possibly play at 10 years old when you’ve got 12 people yelling at you? Just be supportive because they’re going to feel so much more comfortable if you do that.”

Congrats to Adebola on her commitment to Baylor. She’s worked hard to EARN this opportunity. She’s special to our APXP program and I remember her since she was in elementary school. It also means something more to me that she’s going to be led by Michael J Ford who I’ve known for

In my view, the only truly event-specific strength training for acceleration is resisted sprinting, which caps velocity to isolate and overload specific parts of the acceleration curve, targeting projection, postures, and force patterns of that phase! DynaSpeed MuscleLab

Often program resisted sprinting with a gradual reduction in resistance -e.g., 16% at 0 m and 1% at 30 m -much appreciated! DynaSpeed by MuscleLab

Diversify your sources of meaning. If your sport or job is the be-all end-all of your life, you are making yourself fragile. Any failure becomes an attack on your self-worth & status. All-in looks good on social media. A robust sense of self works better in real life.

Criticism is sticky. Praise is transient. Research shows criticism often lingers. Especially if we are already in a negative state. This isn't good or bad. It just is. It means you need to be deliberate & intentional on when & how you provide productive critiques.

June’s Speed Summit brought together some of the sharpest minds in sprinting and team-sport speed. The conversations were dense, practical, and built around real problems coaches face every week. The jump from a solid season to a standout one comes from sharper thinking and
