Great coaches are always an asset, but a team needs players who step up & lead. Be a leader who teaches others to live by team standards, to stand together in adversity, to hold each other accountable daily, work hard, support your coach & play for the team instead of themselves!

If you want to win, do the things that lead to winning. Focus, give your best effort, manage your emotions, trust your instincts, play smart, and be a good teammate. All of these things are under your control. You can control how you perform in games if you choose to!

"There will come a time when winter will ask what you were doing all summer." Henry Clay Take full advantage of this summer to develop: ✅ your game ✅ your leadership ✅ your strength/conditioning ✅ your culture This fall/winter will fully reveal your answer. #CultureWins

Leadership isn’t authority based on a position you have. Leadership is influence based on trust you’ve earned. If you exercise authority without a foundation of trust, you create resistance & resentment. Key point: Trust is earned by your behavior, not granted by your position.

GREAT players never need to be begged, negotiated with, threatened or bribed to do the work. They WANT to work hard because they know what leads to big gains. Gains equals a better player on & off the court. If someone has to beg you, you might need to reconsider your commitment!

The difference between interested & invested players shows in the summer. Interested players need perfect circumstances(too hot/cold, no music, too busy). Invested players just need a place to work & get better (gym, track, weight room) & they do. How do you use your off-season?

The sooner we teach athletes to be great teammates whether they play or not, The better they will be prepared for college sports, if they choose to play, AND life. When you’re a part of a team and you give your very best, you will learn life skills that will be greater than PT.

Steve Kerr's Core Values: 1. Joy "It's meant to be fun." 2. Mindfulness "Stay in the moment. Focus on the process. Be grateful for the opportunity." 3. Compassion "Show how much you care." 4. Competition "We compete. We keep score. We make sure there are winners and losers."

Determination & consistency trumps lazy & talented every day. You can be the most gifted athlete, but if you don’t work at it, someone who does will eventually beat you. A lot of hard work, toughness & grit combined with a great work ethic will always win out over lazy talent!

Your effort is a choice. Your attitude is a choice. Your actions are a choice. Your communication is a choice. Your leadership is a choice. Your level of belief is a choice. Your commitment is a choice. Getting better starts with making better choices. Take ownership.
