2018, more teachers resigned from the profession than any other year PRIOR. 2019, that number was SURPASSED. 2020, that number AGAIN SURPASSED. 2021, BROKE ALL RECORDS making it the biggest teacher resignation year of all-time. Question: Was anything learned? Answer: No!

Get the right players.

If you want to get better at something, you have to put in the work CONSISTENTLY! You can’t flip the switch on and off and expect the results you want. Want to be a better hitter? HIT! Want to be a better pitcher? PITCH! Consistent and deliberate practice is key!

If you want to be the best player you can be, in addition to getting proper rest, eating right, and making time for extra practice, you also need to be a student of the game. Increase your game IQ by watching games often.

Why is this even necessary? What does a top 100 ranking for a middle schooler even mean?

I am not as concerned with where you are now. I am more interested in where we can take you. Do you have the passion and drive to become your very best? If so, roll up your sleeves, and let’s get to work.

Lead with love and kindness. They are the ultimate difference makers over time. The winningest programs have these two principles at the forefront.

A collection of talented individuals might win a bunch of games, but the real winning comes when that collection of talented individuals becomes a team and learns to play for each other. Until that happens, you will never win THE Game.

As a coach, I do indeed have favorites! They are the most coachable, selfless, and hardest working of the group.

We also need to reevaluate the rules we have in place for a halted game due to adverse weather. No championship game should ever have to restart because of bad weather. It is simply not fair.

I have read a lot about the 3A softball game and rain. Why not just keep the game at ASU? I know 2 South schools made it but if it was at ASU the rain doesn’t matter. Let’s just keep championship sites alone. If you make it you might have to travel.
