Paige fought for her life to recruit Azzi to UConn just for them to have the worst injury luck and barely get to play together. Now they get to cut the nets down together in their last year together. I can’t stop smiling I’m so happy for them

I don’t understand the AAU climate. When I played AAU in the 90s it was for actual “Elite” players. Not everybody was picked to play. Now anybody can play & everybody can coach, leading to a false sense of reality from the players & their abilities.

When I played AAU in the 90s AAU had only been in existence for about 10 years. I remember only a few AAU teams in the city: 1) Houston Hoops 2) Houston Superstars 3) Houston Select 4) Houston Jaguars Everybody didn’t get picked. Top players got picked to travel and rep Htown.

When I see players/parents post highlight tapes, I look at who they are playing against. The competition you are playing will determine your improvement as a player. Players send your coaches the “lowlights” that way the coach can really advise you on what you need to work on.
