C. Roberts, a special thank you for leaving us such a talented & dedicated group of young men at St. John's. Your imprint obvious & so respectful of what you achieved at Kansas too-a servant leader if there ever was one.

By the numbers. Balance. 3 pt attempts, like anything too many can be too many. Attacking rim gets team to ft line & challenges opponent's better players=D & often gets them to bench, not to mention O boards. Delay game, 5 out hurts O board attack to some degree.

Behavior. NBA. Fans. Sick & tired of "attitude". No mystery to decline-none. Draymond. Bang a quick T & keep doing it. Put him in the penalty situation whereby he lips off again bang him again & he walks. Cost Warriors a championship. Point-clean it up & go forward.

Count on it! NBA way such that press attack- extreme pressure not worked on. Hence, we are watching teams make frequent mistakes at EOG. Ouch. Repetition & detail so key. Master at this, Pat Riley: all his players complained about length of practices but not results!

Alignment. Leadership. When that person/owner moves his alignment consistently(FACT), then your alignment a crooked path. We will see when pressure/losing visits how aligned you will be. The storm is coming.

The IF game. Playoffs basketball, teams that lose, more turnovers, (fouls=mistakes)less FT's, out rebounded, poor fg%(bad shots). Less time & space in playoffs, thus passing ball freely key, & 1o1 D vital so D not always rotating. Lakers exposed w/ poor D, time & again.

Draymond. Temperament? Costly? Yes-no? Yes & NO. 4 championships later, all negative stuff inbetween. You can be my teammate anytime. Explosive human, but many more days where you are doing great things=$$ donations, etc.. Yep, know your job, do your job. Perfect? Who is-speak!

NBA, college, hs...in game adjustments versus, "Here is our plan...". George Karl use to say, "The game will tell you things, be open to changing but not too quickly, let things settle & then make the adjustment". Wolves/Warriors, so delicious watching this chess match.

Player performance evaluation. Nice to have a checklist for less talented fellas, however how bout you just ask yourself, "Can this player go or not"? Start there. What can that player do for team & will they accept their role?

Mike Dunlap (@coachmikedunlap) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Yes. Problem is defenders arms flailing as contact made. Optics will not work in D's favor. Static forearm=L shape fine to absorb initial hit but when arms of D come above waist in dramatic fashion official will bite on that most every time. Figuring out officials a crap shoot.

John Stockton, Utah Jazz, HOFer. Funny how some NBAers call him "dirty". Dirty b/c he was fierce & wouldn't be bullied. Calvin Murphy was same way, nasty competitor that few messed with. Stockton won many a battle head to head w/ those couch-sitters & maybe that was the issue.

AAU tourney, Wichita. What stands out, body language one way or the other, officials whose pants don't fit them, & ability of players to make good decisions relative to pace, too fast=accidents waiting to happen, & not understanding driving ball into crowds a disaster.

Knicks. Team effort yes! Architect. Quietly, humbly, & letting pundits pound away, Leon Rose. I agree, more yardage to be gained, but evaluation of year by year will allow you to see Leon's steady hand. Congrats. Now keep going my friend. 😎

Flopping. Foul baiting. Objectivity. Why have a rule to clean up flopping yet repeatedly blow whistle for fake trips vis penetration, be it SGA, Brunson, or anyone else. It ruins the flow & just another way quality D gets penalized. Sad.

Mike Dunlap (@coachmikedunlap) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Pundits, former NBA players, sit around & just throw things out, like a sportswriter . Fire away. Lately, one particular player was mentioned how good he was, blah-blah-blah. None of them mentioned player's attitude, kept getting traded: with that talent comes responsibility.

Bone to pick. Charles Barkley. I get questioning any coach, his or her decisions: the chair a magnet for criticism. Yet, when Thibs makes some bold moves, team wins, please give credit for such moves. Charles stuck to his narrative at 1/2 time, "Knicks will lose". Really???

coachingtoolbox.net/filingcabinet/…: Essence. Pull out 3 or 4 concepts here that either refocus you or are targets over the course of next season, some very valuable points w/in this list for any coach.

Coach Mike Neighbors addresses "chaos" as an important part of practice. Why? Dealing w/ distractions, unpredictables, learning how to be nimble under pressure. That said, just as important, handling silence, brakes on full stop, being aware of different types of distractions.

Mike Dunlap (@coachmikedunlap) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Staying on point: "What's up w/ Thibs"? Let me see, last of 4 out of 30 coaches standing, been chopping wood in the NBA forever, servant coach for Basketball USA-Olympics, earned his spurs as assistant for 20 yrs.. Jalen, "I trust Thibs". That is what's UP Chuck.
