Ask your players anonymously, if they would want to play the game the same way they see every game played on TV. Without influence, I'll guess they would love to play basketball with a shot clock. Our shot clock presentation highlights all of those benefits.

Every decision I have ever made in coaching has been, and always will be- what's best for our players/student-athletes. This is no different. There are answers to both of those concerns.

Let's start with the players. That's the most important. Then you can go to the fans of the game. A shot clock actually keeps teams in more games, than takes them out of games. Teams with a 4-point lead with 2:30 to play, have to continue to play.

The game is for the players, not for coaches, not administrators, or not those that don't wish to grow the game. Would love to see a survey from every Class A school to Class 4A school, asking their players if they want a shot clock in Illinois High School Association #IHSA Basketball.

No. It's the exact opposite. The shot clock would be appreciated by the 97% of the players that will not go on to play at the next level. Why should they be deprived of the experience to play basketball instead of keep away, for the full 32 minutes? The NFHS also agrees.

Basketball is never going to be played perfectly by any team. There are bad shots and 1 v 1 shots taken in today's game w/o a shot clock. That's never going to go away. The question is, which is worse for the game... 4-6 bad shots/game, or 4-6 minutes of no shots/game?

In honor of #StPatricksDay2023 it's fair to say I am green with envy☘️ of all the other states that have approved the shot clock for their state's HS Basketball. I am sure their student-athletes appreciate this NFHS approved adoption⏳

Despite this spectacular save w/ the shot clock winding down⏳by the GBS keeper, congrats to our Frosh/Soph ETHS H2O Polo on their 6-4 win. Shout-out to the perfect shot clock reset by the shot clock operator. Wonder why the same excuses for HS 🏀 shot clock, don't apply to HS 🏈🤽🏽

That is part of the equation as to why we use an iPad for drawing up plays on the bench now. I can't afford to lose my cool with that😌
