Former H.S. Player of mine was one of the best players in the State, went off 2 play at a very High Level D1, told me when he got there no one cared how good he was in H.S. & about all the awards he won. He was at the bottom of the pecking order & was no longer the best player.

After playing 3 High School games this year where games have taken over 3 Hours, I’m all for the 20 second clock in High School Baseball. Probably tough for all High Schools to purchase pitch clocks, but would be a good idea.

When I’m looking to nominate players for All State in Connecticut it would be nice for teams to have their stats published on maxpreps or game changer so I can see how the players are doing. 90% of teams don’t have their stats published. Thoughts on why they don’t?

Transfer Portal opens June 2, what will that day look like? How many Baseball players will be in the portal? How many 2025 H.S. Players will not end up at the school they thought they were going too? How many who entered the portal won’t find a home? Thoughts?

High School & College Coaches aren’t looking at your youth travel baseball stats. Make sure you’re on a team that develops you on and off the field! Look at the bigger picture!

Be careful playing for youth coaches that overthrow pitchers. There is no reason for coaches to max out youth arms each and every week. Had a MLB Doctor tell me there are so many bullets in the arm before it goes. Save it and use it wisely.

One thing I noticed a lot this year at the high school level is very few teams hold runners well. Is this a lost art? Are travel teams working on this during there 9 months with the players? Thoughts on this?

For the players who think they are too good for JUCO. Go watch the D1 JUCO World Series! Big time baseball players lots of them committed to D1’s in the fall!

College Transfer Portal trickles all the way down to High School Baseball. Numerous H.S. players throughout the country re-classing as they think it will help their chances for college baseball recruitment. The system is broken and probably won’t be fixed for a long time.

For any sports parents out there, if you call the coach and say, “Hey, I don’t want to be that parent , but.” We’ll hate to say it but you just turned into that parent.

High School State playoffs start today in Connectict! No team should take any team lightly because in the playoffs anything can happen, especially when it’s one and done!
