Today’s athletes aren’t born entitled. They become entitled by the way they’re parented, coached, taught, and led. Two major antidotes to entitlement: 1) Gratitude 2) Earning something you want

Parents: Find a coach who will hold your son/daughter accountable and will actually coach them. You want a coach who has standards, rules, discipline and also knows how to be a mentor. The always fun-easy coach isn’t the answer.

Don’t ever let your words speak a louder truth than your actions! You can’t say you want it bad - and show up late! You can’t say you’re tired of losing - and train with mediocre effort. You can’t say you want to take your game to the next level - and run from criticism.

While this is a powerful concept in building successful teams, it has also become a major societal issue. We tend to search out people & ideas that align with ours instead of hunting and digging for the actual truth — even if it exposes us — cheating us of a chance for growth.

A good attitude costs you nothing. A bad attitude can cost you everything.
