This is what allowing state ownership of clubs leads to: mess. PIF majoratively own Al Hilal. They may sign an expensive player that allows Liverpool to more easily fund purchase of Isak from Newcastle, a club majoratively owned by PIF.

They’re trying to banter us with their second-choice signing at the same moment we’re getting news that we’ve agreed a deal for another one of their first-choice targets 😭

Look Spain, you might be winning 6-0 via a Merino hat -trick, but him starting tells you straight away about your manager’s mindset

That video of Paul Scholes mocking Gyökeres and Jamie Carragher laughing his heart out like it’s the funniest joke he’s heard his entire life is so embarrassing. There are 15 players who cost more than Gyökeres this window but talking about them will not generate any clicks

If I have to keep watching Gyokeres come short with his back to goal all season I’m going to lose my fucking mind. If you sign an elite finisher with 97 goals in 102 games, you alter the tactics to play to his strengths. You don’t alter his game to fit into the existing team.

We’re one of the best teams in Europe. Act like it. Trust your players and don’t set up simply to try to contain the opposition. Take the game to them and decide our own destiny.

VAR can't see the wood from the trees there. Yes Pope got a touch on the ball but I don't think that's the same as having possession or control of the ball, which he absolutely impedes Gyokeres from having.

The way that penalty incident was dealt with was absolutely re-refereeing by the way. The ref has seen the incident live but they’ve asked him to watch it again 20 times and make a new decision.

It simply does not matter if Pope has touched the ball before this contact. Gyokeres still has possession if he isn’t taken down, so it’s still a foul. It really is that simple.

He absolutely does get the knee first, it wasn’t a clear mistake to justify an overturn, but this is just normal now. They touch the ball, the Arsenal penalty gets overturned, no matter the foul they had to commit to touch it.
